I am trying to decide whether to shoot in minidv or dvcam...

I am trying to decide whether to shoot in minidv or dvcam...does anyone have a strong position either way. I will be shooting a documentary and in the past have been told that dvcam tapes are of a little higher quality, is this true? Are they worth the extra cost? thanks jordan
