HomeDo you lose resolution when using a 1 Chip camera (XL-1) as a deck to import DV that was shot on a 3 Chip (Panasonic 24p)? I'm importing into Final Cut Pro 1. Any assistance is greatly appreciated... Thanks!

No. Once the video is shot onto DV, it remains intact and unaltered no matter if it is transfered from, camera, computer, deck or whatever. The 3 chip will shoot better video but, once that's done the DV can be transfered to anything without quality lose. BTW I'm pretty sure that the XL-1 is a three chip camera anyway. -jim |
