Sony 1-659-752-41 (171156541) Faulty Power Supply

Our Sony Trinitron television has gone stone dead twice now. The first time, I noticed a capacitor that had been blown apart on the power supply board. The cost to repair was $174. Now the same thing appears has happened again. Is this a Sony Quality problem. Has anyone seen any recalls or permanent fixes for this problem. If there is no permanent fix, I am going to drop the Sony into a dumpster and pick up another Hitachi (...our Hitachi works like the day we got it, more than 15 years ago, and without any problems)
