HomeI thought that I could fix it. My Sony Handycam CCD-TR416 NTSC camcorder recently jammed shut with a tape in (for the second time) so I thought that I would just do what I normally do and take off the door, pop the release mechanism and carefully pull out the tape. Well, this time the door was so jammed that I had to take the whole camera appart to pop the latch. I got the tape out okay, but when I put everything back together nothing works, it won't power on at all. What can I look for to fix this problem? Please help. I don't want to have to spend a nother $300 on a camera...we've only had this one for 4 years. Thanks.

I am thinking of buying a used one of the same model. How do you like it? Thanks, I'll try that. Sounds like you forgot to reattach one or more circuit board connectors when you reassembled your unit. You could take it apart again, ro bring it to a Radio Shack, they will fix anything. FF |
