hey i have a DCR-HC30 and it was working fine a week ago, its just been laying around, and now when I try to record i just see black. Is the lens done for or is it something else?

I need the mode dial for the dsc-f717 all print has worn off mine. Is there a direct replacment or a decal one can purchase? Thanx for your help. Jim
