Hi, I dont know if this is any help or not. but inside there are fuses for left and right balance which will enable volume to be audable with your speakers which is not requied for headphones. Hope this is of use Regards Colin. I have this amp myself but no longer have the manual, but would be more than happy to open it to have a further look for you should you require.
